In our last blog post, we discussed general tips for paint colors and highlighted our favorite white colors. Another neutral color that’s still very popular in the Midwest is gray. There are many gray paint colors we love!
Tips for Choosing the Best Gray
One very important thing to understand is that grays can skew either warm or cool. When considering what gray paint would look best in your space, determine if the fixed elements – countertops, backsplash, flooring, tile, etc. – are warm or cool. From there, you can determine what direction to go in in terms of warm or cool color selections.
Warm grays – also known as “greiges” – have yellow and brown undertones while cooler grays have blue undertones. Cooler grays also have a tendency to skew purple, so that’s something to be mindful of.
